Getting Wiggy With It – January 4, 2023

Finally some damn cute wigs! All free from Cancer Care!🙏  Two shorties and two medium length blonde wigs (one with human hair.) Score!

I took my treasure over to Lillian Lee Salon in Bergenfield, NJ. Lillian is a bouncy, energetic stylist who approaches wigs for cancer patients like Edward Scissor Hands approaches hedges — total transformation! “Don’t worry. You will leave here looking and feeling great. I promise,” she said. I pointed to my bag of wig options from Cancer Cancer and Lillian went through them one by one, sorting out the keepers and the ones to be returned. We grabbed two blondies that she shaped and styled, one as a bob and then other more like my longer hair was a few weeks ago. She even washed, dried and restyled it! Then I pulled out my disappointing purchase from a few weeks ago. “Tick, tick, tick,” she said with her head tilted sideways examining the poor cut. “It’s the totally wrong color for you. Terrible cut. I’ll fix it!.”

Lillian is so passionate about helping people with cancer feel better she started a nonprofit, Do Wonders, that donates wigs to adults and children going through cancer treatment. All the wigs are donated from companies, past clients and survivors.

Affordable. Lovable. And charitable. It’s the right fit for me.
