ImPORTant Decisions – January 11, 2023

Today, once again, I lost my freedom from tubes and holes with the insertion of a port. I received confirmation that this was a necessary choice for me when it took three surgical nurses four tries to find a working vein. This delayed my procedure because I started to vaso after the second inserted needle failed to produce flow.

This new under-the-skin port will give the veins in my arms a well needed rest and time for recovery. It will be tapped for bloodwork and will be the new superhighway for fluids and chemo.

Thanks to 🙏❤️ Judy B. who got me to HUMC and stayed with me for a longer than expected procedure. Deeply grateful to you Judy for your help and friendship.
